Airbag Replacement & SRS Repair

Airbag Replacement & SRS Repair in Tampa

When the bags go off, the repair is bigger than the bags. The control module recorded the crash and has to be replaced or reset by procedure. The clock spring behind the steering wheel is usually gone with it. The seat belt pretensioners fired at the same instant and are spent too. Often the dash pad, the trim and the windshield come with it. We replace the whole system with new OEM parts and we do not hand a car back with the SRS light on.

Free written estimates

Florida law requires a written estimate over $150. We follow it.

All insurance companies

We deal with the adjuster and the supplement so you do not have to.

Owner-operated

Francisco and Ranyer answer their own phones. No call center.

Se habla español

Start to finish, in Spanish — not a translation line.

What this includes

  • Driver, passenger, side, curtain and knee airbags replaced with new OEM units
  • Control module, clock spring and seat belt pretensioners done with them — they fire together, they get replaced together
  • Dash pad, trim, headliner and windshield work that comes with a deployment, handled here
  • Scanned before and after — no stored SRS codes, no light left on, and we show you the scan

Free estimate, no appointment. Bring the car to 4922 N 56th St and we will hand you a written estimate the same day. If it is not drivable, call us before it gets towed somewhere you did not choose.

How it works

Six steps, no surprises.

You should know what is happening to your car and what it is going to cost before it happens. That is the whole system.

Call, text or send photos

Snap a few pictures of the damage and text them to Francisco or Ranyer. We will give you a straight read on what you are looking at before you ever drive over.

Free written estimate

Bring the car in. We inspect it, write it up, and hand you a written estimate — Florida law requires one on any repair over $150 and we do not treat that as optional.

We handle the insurance

Give us the claim number and we take it from there — the adjuster, the photos, the supplement when hidden damage shows up. You stop being the middleman.

Teardown & real scope

The car comes apart. Everything the impact touched gets found and documented — because what is behind the bumper is usually worse than what is on it.

Structure, body & paint

Structural pulls to factory measurement, panel work, then base and clear in the booth with the color matched to your actual panel — not just the code.

Quality check & detail

Panel gaps, paint match and systems verified. Then it gets detailed inside and out, because handing back a repaired car covered in dust is not finishing the job.

Rather write it out?

Send the year, make, model and a couple of photos of the damage. We will come back to you with a straight answer.

Common questions

Airbag Replacement & SRS Repair

No, and you should walk out of any shop that offers to. A deployed airbag is a spent one-shot device — clearing the light does not put a bag back in the car, it just hides that there isn’t one. Under Florida Statute §860.146 it is a second-degree felony to knowingly install or reinstall a fake airbag or a junk-filled airbag compartment, which is exactly what a car with a cleared light and an empty module is. We will not do it at any price.

We install new OEM airbags. Florida Statute §860.145, the Airbag Antitheft Act, makes it a third-degree felony to knowingly possess, sell or install a stolen airbag or one whose manufacturer part identification number has been removed, altered or defaced — and it requires anyone dealing in salvaged airbags to keep records and disclose it in writing. New parts with traceable numbers keep you and us clear of all of that.

On a covered collision, yes — it is part of the repair like any other damaged component. It is also one of the largest single line items on a modern estimate, and it is a common reason an insurer starts looking at total loss on an older car. We write it accurately either way and tell you plainly which direction the numbers are heading.

Because you are almost never replacing one thing. A single front deployment typically takes the bag itself, the clock spring behind the wheel, the control module that recorded the event, both front seat belt pretensioners, and the dash pad the bag came through. The estimate breaks every piece out line by line so you can see where it goes.

The labor is not usually the holdup — parts are. Airbag components are ordered against your VIN and some modules ship only from the manufacturer. We order the moment the estimate is approved and give you a real date, not an optimistic one.
